A serious railway collision occurred at Gawler, South Australia. A train from Port i'drio, with two engines . attached,; was entering tho station when-it raii .into a' Stationary goods train. > ; K ' • ' Carne, the driver of the goods train, was thrown out of liis engine and badly injured about tho head. His condition is serious. A man named Inns was coupling trucks on tho goods train when a ,wheel passed over, his leg, necessitating' its ; amputation. " Crighjton, the - guard on th.o passenger train, had two ribs broken., Several others were slightly injured. , Tho passengers received a Bevero shock, and one was taken to the hospital. Miss Russell, a daughter of Commissioner Russell, was severely cut about tho hoad. v. A. spcciaKtrain,; with nurses and doctors, •was speedily sont'.:to the scene of the accident, and afforded relief. ■ The ilamago'to tho rolling stock is hoavy. Tliojthree engines 'Wol'b considerably smashed, and a number of trucks 'and'carriages badly damaged. " ;
