MOTOR OMNIBUSES.
Sir,—ln, yesterday's, issue you published an extract from the "Daily Mail" of the halfyearly mooting of the London General Omnibus Company to show that motor-buses did not pay. May I, however, call your attention to the half-yearly meeting of the London itoad Cor Company, held'in August this year, at which the chairman,:' Mr. T. Howard Moore, after giving some information to the shareholders about the various types of motor' buses which the company had tried. during the last fow years, which were duly criticised,' pointed out that 'certain makes of vehicles have shown good working profits since the first dato of their being put-to work on ... the streets. Many of the omnibus companies have been experimenting with various types of motorbuses and consequently sonic, losses ' have been experiences. But of a fleet ,of eighty buses-of one particular mako it has been proved that over one million ,miltj'an ' average ,of ninety-five per cent'of',.total cars in use wore kept on the road, and of .another lleet of twenty-four buses .during the first three months 100 per cent, of total, cars' were kept running. My object in writing is to show that because oiie company does, not pay it is no proof that motorbuses are a failure.—l am, etc., NORMAN HEATH. V Wellington, October 22.
