THORNDON DINGHY CLUB.
A race was sailed by the Thormlon Dinghy Club on Saturday afternoon for a Irophv presented by Mr. W. Missen. A strong nor 1 - west was 'blowing and all the boats were under small canvas. The following dinghies competed:—L. Palmer's Zol, scr.; E. Bailey's Thelma, scr.; B. Stirling's Vera, iniin.; Jones and Sargent's Oeo, lAmin.; A. Aldred's Irex, limin.; J. S. Swan's Blowfly, 2min.; W. Moore's Ajax, 3min.; and P. Light's Petrel, shnin. - ■■ - , . ~ " On the beat to windward in tho first round the Blowfly outpointed the Petrel, and assumed the lead, which she maintained to the finish, completing the course at 3hrs. 30mins. lOsocs.; Irex second, at 3hrs. Umin. SOscc; and Thelma third, at 3hrs. .Umins. 55secs. The other boats finished in the following order:—Oeo, 3hrs. t3mins. Usees.; Ajax, 3hrs. -I3niins.,-Issecs.; Petrel, 3hrs. ■Wmin. lasocs.; and Vera, jlhrs. -lamins. Tho Zel carried awny her peak halyards and retired. The duties of starter, judge, and timekeeper, were carried out by Mr. J. Redmond, and tho handicaps were framed by Mr. W. Jackson. Next Saturday a-race will be sailed' for Mr. L, Jones's trophy.
