Advice received by the police states that Jessie • Adora Gordon; 1G months old, ■ daughter of Mr. Adam.Gordon, farmer, Taita, died.yesterday, as, a, result of burns received four necks ago. [t.appears .that on Sepr tomber 22 the mother, of the child was placing a>mugof boiling .water on.a shelf in the scullery preparatory to rinsing it out. She left tho' mug for a minute or two whilst she' attended to something else, and the. child came along and cauglit hold of tho mug, spilling the water down, her chest.'' The infant progressed favourably-."for about .two weeks and then took a turn for the worse.; Inflammation from tho burn went inwardly and penetrated tho lungs, and this led to the child's.death/..
