(FROM OUR OWN CORftESrOKDENT.).'.' ' Tlio Niroaha Dairy Company paid out an Saturday last £141 (fid. por lb.) for butter fat, as against £51,105. for the same date last year. The-increase, it is needless to say, was not caused by the favourable weather, but by an moralised number of suppliers, besides most of the farmers having their cows coming in earlier. The. writer has had fourteen I 'years''experience'in this particular district, and, without doubt, it is tho worst ho ever savr—rain and wind ever sinco tho first week in, September. The consequence is tho cattle are very"poor, and milking badly, and the feed is very backward., As it is now past tho middle, of October, it will to a . g;reat extent spoil the cows for the season. A good many dairy farmers have been heavy loser's, somo having lost quite a number of their cows. The last fow days' fine weather lias made a. great difference to farmers between Kimboltoa and Cheltenham. Although the land had not suffered so much from the deluge of rain, hail, and windstorms as other parts of thp district,, very, little .outdoor work could ;be done for some time past iii tho direction of getting crops- .in., Now, however, a marvellous change has come over, the, scene, and ploughs and disc harrows at work. are as common as horses..
