WELLINGTON NAVAL ARTILLERY VOLUNTEERS.
* The Wellington Navals, under Licuts. Slooian and Soniervillo, proceeded to llahanga Bay by the Janie Soddon, on Saturday afteiv noon, and put in some uolid work at tho forts. Tho parado stato showed that fiftyseven all told wore present. The capitation earned those parados is being devoted to the "Shed Fund," and it behoves every man in tho corps to contribute to tho general welfare by attending regularly. l'.O.'s Hepburn and M'Kay wero in charge of the 8-in. B.L.' gun; P.O.'s Boss and Steele' superintended the 12-pounder; P.O.'s Bishop, Sinclair, and Howard, with their squad, manned tho G-in. B.L. gun; P.O. Johnston's squad wero at tho Nordenfeldts, aiid P.O. Williamson supervised the signallers. Tho party returned to town at 5.30 p.m. SHOOTING SEASON, 1907-8. ■'; • . Trophies will bo allotted in the respective classes as follow:— A class:—No. 1, highest aggregate; No. 2, second aggregate; No. '3, third aggregate; No. I, highest aggregate in first five matches; No. 5, highest aggregate in second five matches (the winner of No. lis not eligible for No. 5); No. G, three legs in. B class:—No. 1, highest aggregato; No. 2, second aggregate; No. 3, third aggregate; No. i. highest aggregate in first five matches; No. 5, highest aggregate in second five matches (tho winner of No. 1 is not eligible for No. 5); No. G, tlireo legs in. C class:—No. 1. highest aggregato; No. 2, second aggregate; No. 3, third aggregate; No. J, fourth aggregato; No. 5, highest aggregato For first five matches; No. G, highest aggregato for second five matches (tho winner of No. 5 not eligible for No. G); No. 7, three legs in; No. 8, special prize!; for highest Bcoro each Saturday (a member can only win one of these special prizes). Ranges for first throe matches:—First match, ton shots at 200 yds.; second match, soven shots it 200 and 500 yds.; third match, soven shots \t 500 and 700 yds.
