LETTERPRESS PRINTERS' DINNER.

On Saturday night the Letterpress Printers' Machinists' Union held their first annual dinner. So successful was it, that it is not by any moans likely to be the last. , There was a capital attendance, ovor which Air. S. M'lvcr presided, and amongst tho guests ,woro tho Hon. J. Rigg, Mr. Trogoar, Secretary for Labour, and Mr. Phillips, overseer at tho Government Printing Houso. Thore wcro somo fine speeches, but they were subordinated to the real object of • tho gathering-conviviality. During the ovoning, tho chairman, on behalf of the members, presented Mr. J. O'Connor with a nirrso of sovereigns and a satchel for Mrs. O'Connor. Tho , gift-was-intended , as a recognition of Mr. O'Connor's efforts on behalf of the Union in the Arbitration Court'. ■ An onjoyablo musical programme was gone through, - items being ■contributed . hy Messrs. Dan. O'Kcefe, Cyril Power, John Smith, W. Korr, J. Bust, K. M'Caule, J. flidw.-.11, J. Outrini, (i. McCornish, R. Wilson, E. Taylor, D. Olßiidgo, 1 ,, . A. Pliilpot, J. Laffey, and J.
