In a private note the Rev.' AV. Leo, a wellknown Methodist minister of Now Zealand, ■ writes: —"I was too Into in -arriving in England to got. my names on the Conference Plan. I was, however, treated well, and an excellent home was provided for- me. Another ministur, tho Secretary of the/Irish Conference ,stayed at tlio same place, Streatham Hill. We were in luck's way. Our host keeps a motor, and. his chauffeurs usiially\took us to City Koad'oach morning, a distance of eight miles. Wo got to our respective railway stations the same way each evening. . , I spoke to Ors. Moss and JVloulton about the possibility of getting trained candidates; but tlioy give no hope. The Canadians select from rejected candidates, , some of whom ■would not ho rejected if there, was moro '' room in the colleges. Conference determines J beforehand how many candidates shall bo received.", .
