At the meeting of tho Miramar Borough Council last evening, it was resolved, on the motion of tho'Mayor, seconded by Councillor Chase-Morris, that Mr. Mestayer's estimates, in'connection .with tho construction of proposed drainage works, the undertaking of the iraproyemoiit and lighting of the tramway routes and foreshore road from. Scorching Bay to Defence Reserve, and tho construction of a water supply, be adopted, and that the proposals be placed before tho ratepayers with a viow to their sanctioning the raising of threci special loans amounting, in the aggregate,..to £71,000. Tho' estimates are:— ' ' .' Water supply : Mr. Mestayer's estimate, £1§,630; house meters, 800 :at £2 10s. £2000; first year's interest on loan at 4} per cent:, £1035; cost of flotation of loan 1 per cent., £230; contingencies, £1105; total, £23,000. Sowerago: Mr. Mestayer's .estimate,' £22,793"; first year's interest" on : loan at 4,} per cent., £1125; cost of flotation of loan at 1 per cent., £250; contingencies, £832; total, £25,000. .', . Street improvements: Miramar North tram route; £7514; Scatoun tram route, £7795; foreshoro road,: £4138; tramway lighting, £500; tramway shelter sheds, £500; road roller, £1000; first year's interest : and cost of''flotation of loan, £1210; contingencies, £1343; total, £23,000. • v •' / Grand total, £71,000. ; i The Council then went into Committee.
