THE LATE QUEEN'S LETTERS.

' —■ —$ "THE TIMES" AND PRUSSIA. ; GOOD ADVICE 'IXIB6I AND IN 1907. BY TELEGRAPH —PRESS, ASSOCIATION— COPYRIGHT. , London; October 16. The lata Qiieen Victoria's letters, just published, show that the Queen, at the instance of Lord Palmerston (then P-reinior), in 1861 remonstrated with "The Times" for constantly I pttacking : everything Prussian, including the King's claim to Divine right. In reply, Mr. Delano, promised to givo the Prussians 'respite from that' most cruel of all inflicticns—good advice. It is a peculiar coincidence that this occurrence; of the 'sixties comes ,to light just as "The Times" has been administering caustic advice to Prince' - Bulow and • the Kaiser. John Thaddeus Delane was' editor of- "The Times " from 184-1 to 1877, and died on November 2, 1879. Lord Palmerston was Primo Minister from 1855 till 1865, with the interval of Lord Derby's Administration in 1858-59.
