A Made Corelli Story.
One of tho penalties of famo is 'to have anecdotes told about you, and you may consider yourself fortunate if they are even well invented. Miss '.Mario Corelli is an especial sufferer in this respect, and a story which is now making tho. tour of tho provincial Press cannot claim either a surface verisimilitude or originality. It has been told any time the last ten;years, and is now a hardy annual. • ' •
The form it gejierally takes is this, "Slip was asked the other day why she does .iiot marry, and replied, 'Noi I'have three pets at homo which together answer the sanio purpose. I have a dog which growls all tho morning, a parrot which, swears all the afternoon, and a cat which stays out at night.-' " It is scarcely worth mentioning the fact that Miss Mario Corelli possesses neither a dog, nor a parrot, nor a cat, and that she has never yet met anyone hold enough to ask her why she is unmarried. That story will go circling the world with tho certainty of reaching an advanced age, and sooner or later the actual dog and parent and cat will be exhibited shifted, in several'places.-
