AUSTEALIAN TEAMJTOE THE DOMINION,' Tor some considerable timo past negotiations' nuve bceu in progress between tho Welling- ' ton Provincial Schools Cricket Association and the Now South, Wales Association in rofcreiico' :- ,to a' , visit from a team of' New South' Wales'' teachers.- The matter was left in the'hands-of - a: sub-committee, which, brought down its report at. the annual meeting of tho local Association last night. The report states that' mini arrangements-have now been made, and' the New South Wales teachers will leave Sydney for Wellington on Saturday, DccomBor Jl.'lhe- team will remain in New Zealand' for about twenty-seven days, and their tour • will, bo confined to the North Island. The various district institutes in the North have boon notified of the approaching visit, and' satisfactory replies have been received from them. The Committee suggest'the following as the itinerary of the tour, subject to altoration:—Arrive Wellington, December 25 re-'' ceptiou, and begin match with Wellington', district, teachers, .December 2G, and continue' match, and dinner in the evening (December • 27); play outside team, and tlleatre, December ■ 28; (li-ivo, December 29; lcavo for Wauganui via Wairarapa, December 30; excursion on river and | play Wanganui, December 31. The" rest of the tour will, under the present pro. ■ posals, include visits to New .Plymouth Mount Eguiont, and Auckland, where a match is to be played against the New Zealand teachers, Thames, Te Arohu, Botorua, and Hamilton. The team will leave Auckland for bydnev on January 20. About eight cricket* matches and four tennis ■ matches have been mapped out, and the Committee' is at present in communication with the cricket and tenuis clubs regarding the matches. It is understood 'that a joint committee of tho School Cricket Association and the .Wellington District Institute will- make, arrangements for the reception and entertainment of tho visitors during their stay in Wellington' llie Minister for Education has been' apprised 0f,., the. forthcoming visit, . and boon asked to endeavour to obtain "re- : ' duced rates on the railways for the visitors.
