American files to hand by the steamer Fororic, from San Francisco, contain the following:— A London telegram of August 29 states:—Tho Marienbad. correspondent of tho " Standard " says that King Edward passed Thursday with Abbot Holrher, of tho Monastery of Teplo, where ho lunched and talked politics with the abbot, who is a member of the Austrian Upper House. In the afternoon he rodo back to Marienbad in an automobile, •v/itli.the Duke of Tcck and members of his suite. His Majesty visited a local theatre, where a variety of entertainment was given. Tho performance proved so scandalous, and the songs and recitations so exceeded decency, that tho King, alter hearing a few numbers oil tho programme, left the Royal Box and the theatre, declaring: "It is horrible. It is' appalling." The Duko of Tcck and other invited guests all followed. Immediately upon the King's departure, all the English and Americans present rose and walked out to showthat they shared , the King'? indignation.
