Mr. Ballinger has now offered to defray the entire expense of erecting tho new building, _ which is to cost £650, at which price a tender was let to Messrs.. Sanders Bros., at a! meeting! of tho'Building Committee on Tuesday evening. Tho building, "plans for which have been designed by Mr. F. de J. Clero, diocesan architect, will consist' of a serviceable one-storey brick edifice, containing .a - large niis-sion-hall and ante-rooms. The work is to bo proceeded .-with- forthwith and v the foundation stone (which will. contain an inscription to the effect that tho chapel is a memorial to tho lato ' Miss • Ballinger.) is to bo laid by His Excellency the Governor on Wednesday, October.l 6. Meanwhile there is a.mortgage over the land, and a special appeal i 3 being made to the public to come forward and wipo it out, so that the Mission may commonco its wort in tho new building . unhampered by financial burdens. The Rev. G. P. Davys and Mr. W. H. Walton (who has been in charge of ;iho Mission for tho past three years) are willing to receive contributions towards getting rid of this incubus.
