Stroiiuch Morns and Co’o report — 1 at Cattle.—There was a yarding of 2'6y fat cattle forward fur yesterday’s market, the quality generally being quite good. The opening market for prime quality cattle was hardly up to last week's average rates. Cows and heifers on account of the short supply were selling well, and these were from a par to a shade firmer. Prime heavy bullocks to £22 us Od. prime £i(j ids to £ it) 10s. medium £1 2 ios to „/, 15, liglit from £iv. extra prime cows and heifers to £l3 2s 6d. prime £lO to /ill los, medium £S to £.() ios. light from £<j.
lat Sheep.— An entry of 1687 sheep came forward ior Thursday’s market. The opening market for all prime heavy sheep was on a par to a shade firmer, with medium weights easier is 6(1 |<er head. Oats. —The market is still very quiet and there is practically no business passing at present except for heavy lines of Gartens suitable for seed purposes which are bringing up to 3s 3d on trucks, country sidings. Wheat—There is very little milling wheat offering and millers will fake any lines suitable t" 1 -chedulc rate. Good whole fowl wheat. meets with keen enquiry at tip to 5s qd ex store. Dunedin.
