Lodge Meeting

M.U.1.0.0.F. The usual fortnightly meeting of the I.oval Juvenile Lodge was held in the Oddfellows- Hall on Friday, Oth hist. The N.G. Bro. McNamara being greeted by a large attendance jf officers and members, despite the coldness of the weather. In the report of the last meeting- the name Bro. G. Jolly was inserted as winning the speech contest. This should have been Bro. R. Wishart, with Bro. G. Jolly a close second. A good attendance of officers and members greeted tho N.G. Bro. Knowles at the summoned installation meeting of the Loyal Cromwell Lodge. A request from the Loyal Naseby Lodge for the loan of banners to use at a ball to be held on 27th June, was readily acceded to. Sick pay, etc., wen- duly passed for payment. The chief business of the installation meeting of officers was conducted by P.G. Bro. Ree officiating as Lecture Master. and P.G.'s Bros. Jolly. Clarkson, Hosking- and Munro, acting as conductors. The newly installed officers were accorded the Oddfellows toast and suitably replied, the Lodge being very fortunate in securing such a line lot of officers for the ensuing term. A motion was carried fixing Augusf 3rd as the date for an official visit to the Loyal Queen of Mauiototo Lodge The secretary to advise. P.G. Bro. Jolly gave a report on the banjuet at the Jubilee of Roxburgh Lodge.
