Messrs Dalgety and Co. Ltd., report for week ended Monday, October (ith, as follows : Oats :—Only a limited quantity is offering and a good enquiry continues. Bright heavy lines, suitable for milling purposes are rraoily disposed of at quotations while seed also is in good demand. We quote : —Prime milling 4s 3d to 4s Id, good to best feed 4s Id to 4s 2d, medium to good 3s Od to 4s, inferior from 3s 3d per bushel, (sacks extra.) Wheat : —Millers are taking .all suitable lines at the maximum Government rates but there is no great quantity offering. Fowl wheat is not over plentiful and meets ready sale on arrival at full rates. ** Potatoes ;—Consignments continue to arrive from the North but the demand is slack. Only choice freshly picked lines attract buyers and even these are slow of sale at laic rates. Medium quality and faulty lines arc neglected and dilli. cult to quit on arrival. We quote : Best freshly picked lines £9 10s to £lO, medium to fair quality £7 10s to £9, others from £0 per ton, (sacks in.) Chaff : —Although supplies have not been coming forward quite so freely of late, the quantity arriving, in addition to store stocks, is suflicient to meet the requirmeuts of the local market which is the only outlet at present. Bright heavy oaten sheaf is in most demand, medium quality and light lines being slower of sale. We quote :—Choice lots to £6 15s, good oaten sheaf £0 5s to £6 10s, fair to good £5 10s to £tl, medium and light from £4 per too, (sacks extra).
