Tragedy of the Alps.
An Alpine tragedy of peculiar pathos is reported by the Grenoble correspnndetih of the ‘ Matin.’ Two climb t-rs, M. Allimand and Mine. Daromuit, set out one clay in June to follow ihe course of the River Ruize, lost their way in fog, and fell 30ft on to a ledge just by a waterfall. M. Allimand l robe his leg, and neither he, nor his companion could escape from the lodge. They lay there helpless fur three days and a half, at the end of which time M. Allimand expired from his injuries and from the effects of exposure and starvation. On-line 1(» they were seen hy peasants. Mine. Daronnnt was rescued and carried to a chalet, but M.
