Simple life in Berlin.
Americans cause a Sensation in the Capital. Fred Duncan, the brother of Isadora Duncan, the American dancer, and his wife, are causing a sensation in Berlin by a crusade in favor of the “ simple life.” They wear little, and like the monkey tribe from which humanity is said to have descended, they eat only nuts and fruit. They demonstrate their views on the subject by publicly parading the streets of the capital in the scantiest of clothing. Duncan wears only a coarse sheet, which, passing over bis loft shoulder and beneath the right arm, leaves his rigid shoulder and entire right arm, side, chest, and back exposed. The sheet reaches to tho knees, leaving the legs and feet hire. A pair of sandals complete the costume. Duncan, who has flowing I'-'cks ha ! f way down his back, and a long bushy '■ eard, resembles rather a wild man from Borneo than the apostle of a noblc-r mode of hfe. Mrs Duncan’s costume is a little more in accordance with propriety. Her apparel looks like a shawl with many folds. The nock and right shoulder aro left hire, and the garment roaches almost to the ankles. She wears sandals.
