"I HAVE NO MONEY."

The Countess of Warwick, possessor of one of the noblest names in the British peerage, occupant of stately castles and halls, has made a confesson of poverty, to a gathering of her tenants called to consider a cooperative scheme for the establishment of direct supply stores. In supporting the scheme the Countess said she was willing and anxious to help forward those among whom she lived, and for whom she had a personal affection. "I have no money, as you all know," she said sorrowfully, "but I have a great wish to help the labouring people of this country to a better state of things. When I have money I always spend it in trying to work out social problems, and the result is that I always have overdrawn my banking account, and am always in trouble."
