Cromwell Athenæum Meeting.

The usual monthly meeting was held at the Council Chambers on Tuesday, 10 April, 1906. Present— Messrs J. Marshall (chair), Harris, Foreman, and Menzies. The minutes of the pi-evious meeting were read and confirmed. CORRESFONDE^-C —IXWARD. Letter from Mudie's Circulating Library, forwarding catalogue of book* for sale. —Received. The Treasurer tabled a report on the finance of the institution to date, which showed a credit balance in the Bank and on deposit amounting to £59 15s 10d.—-Report adopted. Accounts amounting to £8 7s 2d were passed for payment. Proposed by Mr Harris and Mr Menzie's, That the Chairman and Mr Foreman be appointed to draw up plans and estimates of neeesssary repairs to the Hall, and to call for tenders, and deal with same. Resolved—To insure the Caretaker under the Employees Liability with the Government Office.—Carried. The usual vote to the chair closed the meeting.
