HAD ENOUGH.
Hirst, the Yorkshire fast bowler, was once playing in a local match at a small village near his home. His fast delivery was distasteful to a good many of the village batsmen.
One of the iatter, on going in to bat, received the first ball on his leg. "How's that ? " asked the bowler. "Not out," said the umpire. At the same time the batsman was seen walking away from the wicket. "You're not out, my man," said the umpire. "No," said the man : "but I'm going." (1312.) B.
