We sold on Monday grey winters to top price of season, and black and fawn to 13d, Wool.— The outlook is distinctly more encouraging and we look for improvement at next Loudon sales. Wheat.—Prime milling 3s ; extra choice milling 3s Id. Oats, —Best milling Is to Is fid. RABBITSKIN MARKET. Messrs Remshardt amd Co. report as follows : In consequence of the Home market for superior winters being reported as firm on Friday last, the tendency for that class is an upward one in the local market, Unfortunately medium and low sorts have suffered another sharp decline iu last week’s London sales, which naturally affected values of these descriptions here unfavorably, although not to the same extent. As spring is now approaching we would advise clients to clear out their winters, as when mixed with springs the value of the former will suffer. J. H. Kikk and Co.. Bond street, Dunedin, and Don street, Invercargill, report as follows : Rabbitskins.—The recent sales in Loudon held on the 17th iust., fulfilled our auticipa-

tions and at the close we received advice from our agents that low grades had declined, while there was practically little demand for the winter consignments held over. We were pleased to see however, that the few lots of the latter that sold did not show any appreciable difference in values, and it may be possible that these sorts, at all events, will remain firm. This seems to be the view held by the buyers in our local sales, who showed keen competition for lines submitted, most notably, for black and fawn, which brought quite fancy prices. Our orders are not yet filled in any lines and we shall therefore be glad to receive consignments on our usual terms viz. top prices and prompt net cash returns. Sheepskins are apparently in fair demand and obtain firm values. We have just received a large order and can consequently take all coming forward at a good price. Horsehair still continues firm iu the local market though a slight fluctuation has taken place in prices in London. Dunedin 22nd August 1894. J. H. Kirk and Co.
