Arrowtown comes out strong in candidates for the office of Mayor, there being no less than three candidates, namely, Messrs A. Innes (present holder of the office) H. Pritchard (exMayor) and F. lumber, one of the leading members of the Municipal Council. Between three gentlemen having such equal claims, the contest should be a close one. For Queenstown, Mr F. H. Daniel seems likely to have a walk-over, having been presented with an influential requisition from the ratepayers. Mr W. Warren, the present Mayor, does not again come forward.
