A melancholy accident occurrcdat the crossing-place oh the Tnieri River, on ho road between Naseby and Hamilton, on the til inst. A baker named Thomas Lawsbn, withhis eon William, a little boy, attempted to oiss the river, while it was in a state of a horse and spring-cart. The horse got ol of his depth immediately on going into the w&r, the cart filled and; sank, and the father and m wore drowned. A subscription has been '— L to assist Mr Lawson's widow. /
