A FAMOUS CARTOONIST.

Mr Raemaekers, the Dutch cartoonist, whose bitter satires on I'russianisui are well known, was scarcely heard of before the war. An interesting storyis told of h's meeting in Paris with a French artist. They were introduced at the gallery where the Hollander's work was on show. Refore the formal words of introduction had been spoken the Frenchman' had thrown his arms round the other, and away they marched up the length of the long gallery, each with an arm over the other's shoulder. The Frenchman left in 10 minutes. An hour later someone asked Raemaekers if he knew the Frenchman. "I never met him," ho said, "until to-day. But now I know him very, very well."
