BALCLUTHA COURT.
j Mr H. A. Young, U.K., sat at the Balelutha Court on Tuesday, i 'Thos. Sinclair pleaded' guilty to a charge, laid on the information of David j Bower, of removing soil from the Finegand road without authority, contrary to part 4, by-law 1, Borough of Bairlutha. Defendant said that it had been the practice of persons for years past to ( remove soil from the road without get- . ting permission. Mr Stewart prosej cuted. Defendant was convicted and ordered to pay 17s 6d costs. •Sidney Bissett did not appear to answer a charge of driving at night in i John street, Balelutha, without lights I Convicted and ordered to pay costs (14s ! 6d). | , Richard Burrows, who also failed to . answer to a similar charge, was fined 5s I and 7s costs. These two charges were j brought on on the information of the police.
Morgan o'Flaherty pleaded guilty to failing to render personal service under the Defence Act,,aud was fined £5 and costs (12s). Leonard Leslie Finnie, similarly charged, did not appear, and was lined £5 and, 7s costs.
Thos. Jenkins was, on the information of Fields Inspector R. McGillivray, charged with failing to destroy rabbits on his property at Port Molyneux. He was convicted and fined IlOs, with costs (7s). : C. Stokes and Sons (Mr Stewart) v. C. Robinson, claim £5. Judgment by default for amount claimed, with lils fid costs.
