TO TRAVEL this season in the Clutha and SuErpunding. "Districts, the splendid imported Clydesdale BOQUHAN KENNEDY. The property of the Olutha Clydesdale Horse Club, Ltd. BOQUHAN KENNEDY is a splendtf dark bay horse, foaled March 3, 1911. His sire is the famous Apukwa (14567); his dam Beatrice, by Baron's Pride. BOQUHAN KENNEDY is a big-sized horse of grand colour, great weight, strength and substance, with the very best of feet and legs, good clean flinty bones and close straight action, and thoroughly sound in every respect. He is just three and a-half years old) and gives promise of finishing the most handsome and weighty stud horse in the Dominion. BOQUHAN KENNEDY'S sire, Apukwa, i s described as by far the most popular breeding horse ever got by the champion Hiawatha (10067). He finished the 1912 show season second on the list of winning sires in Scotland with a total of 39 prizes won by eleven animals. In 1913 he was again second on the list of winning sires with 32 prizes. Apukawa's stock are commanding sensational prices in Scotland, in one instance 2000 guineas being paid for a colt nine months old by him. The dam of BOQUHAN KENNEDY was Beatrice, one of the best brood mares in Scotland, and winner of first prizes at Edinburgh, Stirling and Buchlyvie, second at Ayr and third at the Highland Society's show. Her sire was the invincible Baron's Pride (9122), the sire, among others, of the £9500 Baron of Buchlyvie, Baron's Brilliant (imp.), ete. PEDIGREE: WINSOME'S GLORY is a big brown well-balanced horse, with plenty ot weight and substance. He has superior quality of hair, good flat flinty bone, nicely set ankles and good feet of the right wearing kind. He was foaled on November 12, 1910. Dam, Jean, by Pride's Fancy (311 N.Z.5.8.); g-sire, Lion King (306 N.Z.5.8.); g-gsire, British Lion (270, imp.); g-dam, Nellie of Auchmore; Nellie's sire, Auchmore, by Lord Salisbury (114, imp.); second dam, Lily. Nellie's dam, Scotch Annie (imp.), by Ivanhoe (308). As a yearling WINSOME'S GLORT was third in Dunedin, first at Milt*a and second at Clutha. As a thrse-year-old he was first at Milton and second at Clutha. From the above pedigree it will be seen that WINSOME'S GLORY comes from the very best strains of blood to be had both in Scotland and New Zealand, and should prove himself a breeder. EARL DERBY, foaled December, 1909, is a thick-set, big, sound black horse, with three white legs. He stands 16J hands high, has the right sort of bone and hair, perfect ankles and big round feet. Being a grand mover, he is just the sort of horse to breed big, sound, fast work horses. He is also one of the surest breeding horses that ever travelled the Clutha district. sire, Baron' freat horse. Blue Ribbon, the sire of EARL DERBY'S dam, was a show-yard favourite, having seven first and champion prizes to his credit, including Christchurch, Dunedin and several big ahows.
