SUDDEN DEATH.

An elderly man named George Edward Taylor, residing at Owaka, took a bad turn on the Dunedin railway station 011 Tuesday morning and expired on his way to the Hospital. Deceased had been suffering from heart trouble. An inquest was held at the morgue on Tuesday afternoon by the district coroner (Mr C. C. Graham, S.M.). George Edward Taylor, son of the deceased, said that of late his father had not been in a very good state of health, having complained of pain in his chest and shortness of breath. He had also complained of pains in the region of his heart. About 18 months ago he had •consulted Dr Lindon, who told him he was suffering from heart disease. Dr, Lindon said deceased attended him in January of last year, and he found him to be suffering from serious trouble. At the time he did not mate any note that he anticipated an immediate death. Taking into consideration the condition of deceased's heart two years ago, and the changes that would take place in his heart since then, he was of opinion that death would be quite compatible with sudden heart failure. The cause of death was sudden heart failure, as the result of the disease of that organ! Evidence was also given by Constable Beer, who found deceased on the station in a state of collapse, and had him taken to the Hospital.

The Coroner returned a verdict in aC' cordance with the medical evidence.
