PARLIAMENTARIANS' HOURS.

WELLINGTON, June 27. "Our Parliamentary life is so severe in consequence of the long hours of work that unless a man has very strong physical and mental qualifications he can scarcely stand, the racket," commented Hon. G. Jones in the Legislative Council this afternoon while speaking to the motion regarding the decease of Sir Arthur .Guinness. "The last few sessions Sir Arthur Guinness had to endure," he continued, "put a big strain on his constitution, which resulted in his death sooner than it might otherwise have happened. In my opinion it is just about time that the sittings of Parliament were regulated more in accordance with common sense than they aro at present."
