Prior to tier departure from Clinton i few ludy friends called at the residence of Mrs W. J. Yeal and presented her with a purse of sovereigns to show die esteem and goodwill in which she is held by her lady friends and wellivishers at Clinton and Waipahi. The schoolgirls at Clinton school also presented Ngaire Veal with a "Girls' Own Annual" and also a splendid autograph book. Miss Jane B. Harris has been appointed mistress of the Kahuika school .nd Mr .J. M. Wilson sole teacher at Popotuuoa.

At (lie conclusion of the business at flic Bruce County Council on Tuesday i presentation from the council of a landsome 400-day clock was given to Mr .1. H. Bateman, inspector, aB a wedding present. All the councillors spoke nf the pleasant relations which existed between them and the recipient, and vished Mr and Mrs Bateman long life mil happiness.
