LOST FOR 41 YEARS.
Tito extraordinary circumstance* of the recovery of a gentleman's gold ring, which Wits lost 51 years ago, was recently reported by the police nt Campbeltown. It appears that a .short time ago an Helensburgh lady holidaying in Kintyre, while strolling through Saddell Wood, found on the ground, lying among the fallen leaves and twigs, a gentleman's gold ring. She immediately forwarded it to the police office at Campboltowiij and the ring having tho appearance of being a valuable one, the find was advertised in tho local newspapers. Tin- family and relatives of Mr Duncan .Wacfadyeii, Beechhill, Campbeltown, observing the advertisement, were struck with the coincidence of a. ring having been found in Saddell Wood, where it was known Mr Macfadyen had lost a valuable ring oyer fortv years ago. Mr Macfadvon, being in London, Mrs Macladyen, out. of enrosity, called at tlie police station to see the ring, and to her great surprise she found it to be the one lost by her husband exactly -11 years Miiee. Tt was an uncommon ring, having en'/.raved on it some Arabic characters, w;i> easily identified, and had suffered nothing from its long exposure in Iho wood.
