KAKAPUAKA.
4 —, (From Our Own Correspondent.) The Social Society held their windup dance on Thursday evening, when there was a record muster, over 100 members and non-members turning up to make the final dance a success. Wc have been pleased to see that all the social dances have been so well patronised and greatly appreciated by all the people attending. Thursday, as stated, was a record and a huge success, thanks chiefly to the musicians, Messrs McKay Bros., Bob Cross, J'. Sarginson, and J. Sheddan, who were accorded a hearty vote of thanks at closing, while Mr'J. Guest, Miss Clapporton, and Mrs Downes kindly favored with songs. Some of the Society kindly undertook the dispensing of the good* things in the way ofrefreshments' in the interval, which were much appreciated, and the ladies were also given a hearty vote of thanks. " 5 We hear of a good story about the dance. A friend asked another who had at-
tended the affair how he-had onjoved himself, and his remark was "It was grout, but there was 100 people too many !"
