AERIAL PARCELS DELIVERY.
The departure of the Olympic this afternoon was utilised by an enterprising department shop for a demonstration of the latest possibilities in the delivery of its goods (wrote the New York correspondent of the 'Dailv Mail' on June 28). While the liner was going out down the North River a passenger ordered a package from the shop by wireless. The order was received by the shop's plant on the roof of its skyscraper, and the package was rushed by motor car to the Club at Long Island, where it was received by Mr Thomas Sopwith, an English airman. He carried it by biplane above the liner on her way up the harbor and dropped it on to the deck. The raucous whistle of the Olympic's siren announced the successful completion of this feat of American advertising as the vessel continued on her way.
