REV.MR DALRYMPLE.
The Ivev. Mr and Mrs Miller, of Milton, with their usual kindness, provide *'tl tea for the members of the Clutha Presbytery on Wednesday last, when opportunity was taken ot the occasion to bid farewell to the ltev. Mr Millar referred in eulogistic terms to the many estimable qualities of Mr Dalrympl.e, and to his good work as a member of Presbytery and as pastor of a somewhat scattered congregation. Similar complimentary remarks were made fby-i the KevsJ Blair, Currie, Ponder, and and by Mr James Jifcid. Mr Blair spoke of Mr Dalrymple's moderation, and charity, and gentlemanly demeanour, while Mr Currie, as an old friend of 2-1 years standing/ said his sense of loss in the departure from the district of such a neighbour and friend was very keen. Mr l)alrymple had a very open mind, and, in spite of his years, was one of the youngest members of Presbytery. Mr Iteid spoke of Mr Dalrymple's dignity of appearance, and of manner, anil of speech. In acknowledging the kindly remarks of his brethern about both his wile ami' himself Mr Dalrymple said he was very far from being indifferent to such expressions of good will. Instead he was greatly cheered by them. In referring to t'ne kindness of the Presbytery on past occasions he said he hoped in his partial withdrawl from work to be able to take a service now and then for his brethern, and so pay off part of his debt and at the sume time keep in touch with the Presbytery.
