ODDFELLOWSHIP.

On Tuesday overling official visitors from the Loyal Kaitangata Lochre were entertained by the Loyal Dalton Lodge. After routine lodge business was over the meeting adjourned to the stage in tiie hall and a pleasant hour was spent playing cards. A plentiful supply of refreshments was then handed round. Bro. It. R- .Grigor to propose the toast of "Visiting Brethern." Bro. Grigor said it was a great pleasure to him to do so, and coupled the toast with N.G. Bro. Edwards (Kaitangata) and P.G. Bro. McLeod (Mosgiel). The toast was then duly honoured, after which songs were ' rendered by P.'G. Bro. Bain (encored) and Bro. Sanderson. N.G. Bro. Edwards thanked the Loyal Dal ton Lodge for the wav they had responded to the toast of the "Visiting Brethern." He said he thought these visits helped to bring the ties of friendship closer together. ' He then proposed the toast of "The Loyal Dal ton Lodge" coupling it with the names of the ameers of the Lodge. P. G. McLeod also acknowledged the toast of the visitors. The toast was then drunk with musical al honours. Items were then rendered by Bro. S. Harvey (song), P.G. Bro. McLeod (song), tf.G* Bro. Reid' (violin solo), encored, and Bro. A. Anderson (recitation). G.M. Bro. Grigor heartily lhaked the visiting brethern for the manner in whiwi they had responded to the above to-isl lie I said it was a pity these official visits did not take place in the winter sea- | son, because in summer time members had plenty of other pastimes, such as bowling, tennis, etc., to lill in their time (he filled in the most of his working in the garden) whereas l in the winter there was none of these and thus evenings such as they were holding would come . as a great pleasure. N.G. Bro. Reid and V.G. Bro. Knowles also spoke. P.G. Bro. J. Guest then rendered a song and had to reply to an encore. G.M. Bro. Grigor proposed the toast of "Our Past Grands" coupling the names of P.G's. Middlemass, Guest, Bain and Lawson with it. After the, toast had been honoured P.G. Bro ;■»«* acknowledged thanks and stated that any member of the Dalton Lodge Lodge would always be welcomed by his lodge.. P.G's. Bros. Guest, Lawson, ami" Bain also spoke, Bro. Bain remarking that he thought it was the place of a member who had passed through the chairs to attend the lodge constantly, aa it was only fair to the younger members. The gathering i broke up at midnight with the singI ing of "Auld Lang Syne." P.G. Bro.
