A HORSE DEAL.
.—* ALLEGED UNFAIR EXCHANGE. At the Supreme Court, Dunedin, this, week, Thomas Sinclair, of ISnlcfutha,, butcher, sued dolm William Freeman, of Wainiate, horse dealer, for ,C 20() damages, arising out of the exchange of the stallions Dalmuir and Up-to-Uate, Much guaranteed that his stallion was sound, but Up-to-Date was subsequently found to be suffering from a nenous aii'c.-tiou—shivers. Ereeman, t!ie defendant, was not present when the arrangement was made, but was represented by a man named Dalgleish. Freeman denied that Dalgleish (iii his behaif represented Up-to-Dalc to be sound. The defendant sold Dalmuir immediately after the exchange .was made. Mr Hay, for Freeman, said Up-10-Da'te was originally sold to one O'Neii, who combatted (hi' allegation of iiu.-oundness, and said Up-to-Date had taken fourth prize at the Dunedin horse parade, -17 competing. Tne Vase conies on again this morning.
