FIGHT FOR GIRL'S LIFE.
BROTHER GIVES HIS BLOOD
A wealthy retired New York iron merchant, Mr Kayser, seconded by his family, is making remarkable efforts to save the life of his daughter Celia, w*ho is seriously ill from anaemia. Her brother Arthur recently allowed two quarts of blood to be transferred from his veins to those of his sister, but the doctors decided that the sacrifice was insufficient to give her an adequate supply. Arthur was willing to be operated on again, but the doctors tested him and found him 401b under his proper weight, so they declined to "allow him to make a further sacrifice.* Almost in despair, Mr Eayser issued advertisements, and 12 youths offered to contribute as much blood as the doctors thought them strong enough to lose. They are being medically examined with a view to cktosing which of them shall be called upon to undergo the operation. The selected will be handsomely paid by the distracted father.
