TENNIS.

A lawn tennis matoh, the first that has been played at Balclutba for yeara, took place between representatives of the Waiwera Private Tennis Club and the Balclutha Club on Saturday, and a most enjoyable game resulted, in which the visitors proved more than a match for the local players. The feature of the game was the brilliant play of Robertson aud L. Edwards. The ladies entertained the visitors at afternoon tea on the green, and afterwards the visitors were entertained at tea in Grant's Coffee Palace by the local players.
