CLUTHA SALES.
Messi:s Maclean and Co. report having held a very successful, sale of sheep, lambs, and cattle at Owaka on Thursday last, when they put through over 2000 sheep and lambs and GO head cattle. Lambs sold at 8s to 10s 2d, ewes and lambs at 8s to 10s, sheep at 7s Id to 12s 8:1, ewes to 13s 3d, cattle at 10s to LG 2s Gd.
Wilsox, Mack.w- & Co,, report as follows ; —On Wednesday last we held a Sale of timber at the railway yards, Balclutha, when we sold, on behalf of various vendors, 36,000 ft of timber, and 700 goai post 3 at very satisfactory prices. Also privately, on behalf of Messrs M'Gui'fog Bros., threshing mill and engine (LI 50), Messrs Chalmers, of Owaka, being the purchasers. Also, on behalf of Mr Isaac Hurring, his flaxmill and plant, near Balclutha, at a satisfactory figure, Messrs Anderson, Hay, Lindsay, and Jeffries bring the purchasers. O.; Wednesday last we held a sale of cattle at M'lntyre's Yards, Owaka. Owing, however, to tbe wet weather prevailing the number forward was small, bat those offered were sold under good competition at full market rates.
