GOOD CITIZENSHIP.
TO THE EDITOR. 1 \ Sir,— lt is a pleasure as well as, a surprise ': to find Mr Ji Wilson Wilson posing ks an* apostle of peacei and good feeling, and if his conversion is sincere peaceable citizens will be able to walk abroad ih our streets without' being screamed at in language which would be; condemned in Billingsgate ; while : farmers attending certain auction sales will be relieved: from those disagreeable little. exhibitions of' petty spite which .have been so of ten served out; to them from the auctioneer's rostrum during the last couple* of years. If he could only persuade his ; alter ego, the ' Mayor to; come over with him to the side ot. good citizenship, the reign of peace in Balclutha 1 would indeed be assured, and I would be released from- the painful task of writing, letters in defence of our township,' with enforced references to insolvencies and small dividends which are as distasteful for me to write about as tbey are evidently unpleasant for others besides Mr Thomson to read.— l am, &c, D.Stewart.
