Tibby, the dam of Stanrigg Duke, is a Superior Brood Mare, got by M'Kean's noted Breeding Stallion Prince Charlie (029) a grandson of theldistinguished Breeding Stallioa LocMergus Champion (449). Prince Charlie won the Ardrossan and Salcoats Premium in 1873. and his dam was got by the famous Old Victor (892), the. winner of the 2nd prize at the H. and A. Society's Show in 1864, besides numerous district premiums. Captain (121), the sire of the grand-dam of Stanrigg Dukp, was bred by the late George Scott, of Barr, Largs ; got by famous Old Campie (119), the winner of the first prize and Gold Medal at the H. and A. S. Show at Kelso in 1863, also several other district premiums. Captain's dam was the famous old mare Jess, got by old Clyde (574), the grand-sire of General (322), the sire of the marvellous stock horse Prince of Wales (673) of world-wide fame.
