GRAIN AND SEED REPORTS.

Oats. — We had none on offer Buyers are acting cautiously, and are holding back until supplies begin to come forward. During the week we sold medium quality at Is lOd to Is lid.

Wheat. — We offered a few fair quality lots, bulk of which were only fit for fowls' feed. Prices ranged from 3s 6£d to 3s Bd, prime lin es are worth 4s to 4s 2d.

Barley. — One small lot sold at 2s 3^d. Chaff. — A moderate catalogue offered Avith nothing very prime, but under keen bidding we cleared all. lots at L 2 10s to L 2 12s (id. '

Straw. — We sold two lots at a satisfactory price.

Messrs Samuel Obr and Co., Stafford street report for the week ending March 3 as follows : —

The weather since last reporting has been very good for harvest operations, and the harvest is getting on well, better than for many years past, as new grain is already in from a few places south.

Oats. — The market keeps much in the same position, as during the past few weeks paucity of supplies accounting for prices being maintained. We quote : Prime milling Sutherland's Is lljd to 2s, sparrowbills Is 9sd to Is lid.

Wheat. — The demand is reduced to a mere bagatelle, millers only buying from hand to mouth till prices north are more settled. In the north they are using the same tactics. When, however, a demand sets in it will make a stir.

Barley. — We have nothing new to report, in this. Prices rule about the same, and we have placed a few lines during the week.

Potatoes. — Good kidneys are worth up to L5, Derwents up to L 4 10s.

Chaff. — For good stuff selling up to L 2 17s 6d.

Grass Seed. — During the past week we have placed a good few lines, and samples are still coming in very freely. Prices rule about the same as last reported.
