MR BLAIR'S MEETINGS.
Warepa. — Mr Blair addressed us in the hall here on Tuesday evening, 20th inst., but the weather being exceedingly wet only a very few electors rolled up, among whom were several ladies'. Mr Wood was voted to the chair. Mr Blair gave an address which lasted about an hour and an half. He explainsd his reasons for coming forward as a candidate and dealt with some of the leading political questions in an able aud interesting manner. He expressed himself as a decided opponent of the present system of party government, a supporter of Bible in schools, and several of the Government measures but expressed objection to the too drastic views of the extreme prohibitionists. Mr Blair was frequently applauded and at the close of his address received an enthusiastic vote of thanks. Mr Blair also addressed meetings at Waitepeka and Kaihiku where he was very favourably received, and received hearty votes of thanks.
