A The Aovangi's butter arrived in excellftnt condition, and is being stored. The Prince of Wales and' the Duke of York are shadowed by detectives. Cholera has reappeared in St Petersburg. The Premier of Italy has decided to send two warships to Brazil for the purpose of obtaining redress for grievances reported by Italian subjects in Rio de Janeiro. Judges and senators representing 40 States and the presidents of seven universities have signed a pressing invitation to Mr Gladstone to visit America. A firm is negotiating with the Bank of New Zealand to take up the whole issue of preference shares at slightly above par. The yacht Satanita ran into and sank the Valkyrie while racing in the Clyde. The accident was brought about owing to the former being jammed at the start by steam launches. The Satanita was steered by her owner, Mr H. D. Clarke, while the Earl of Dunraven was at the helm in his own yacht. Forty vessels are due in London in September with frozen meat. Mr Woodall, M.P. for Hanley, declares that eight hours in Government factories has been most successful. The Prince of Wales's yacht Britannia defeated the Araericaii crack yacht Vigilant by 33 seconds in a race on the \ Clyde. The American income tax includes absentees. China has accepted Russian mediation in Corea, but Japan resists the offer on the ground that it is merely a Russian intrigue to secure a Corean port. The loyalists defeated the rebels in Rio Grande. One thousand were killed, including many officers. Owing to a train being derailed in Bibloa, Province of Biscay, 12 persons were killed and 16 injured.
