A Grand Demonstration in connection with the Temperance movement, under the auspices of the Societies at Milton, Milburn, Glenore, Manuka Creek, Lawrence, Blue Spur, Lovell's Flat, Kaitangata, Stirling, and Balclutha, will be held at Stirling on BOXING DAY, DECEMBER 26. Mr W. Smith has kindly placed a portion of his Bush at the disposal of the visitors. A Special Train will leave Lawrence at 7.45 a.m., Milton 9.40., calling at all intermediate Stations, and arriving at Stirling at 10.30' a.m., returning from Stirling at 5.5 p.m. Ordinary Saturday Fares will be charged. 138 STIRLING SPORTS. THIRD ANNUAL GATHERING Will be held in Messrs Smith Bros. 1 Paddock, near Bridge, STIRLING, ON flew Tear's Day, 1886 A large and variod Programme has been arranged, including the Stirling Handicap ... £6 Os Od. Half-mile Handicap ... £2 12s 6d. Entrance fee, 3s and 2s 6d respectively. Entries to be made to the undersigned not later than 6 p.m. on Thursday, the 24th December. Entries and handicaps will be posted at Athenaeum, Stirling, on Thursday, Dec. 24th, at 9 p.m. For particulars of Sports, see posters. The Kaitangata Brass Band will perform on the grounds throughout the day. Refreshments of all descriptions on the ground.
