LOCAL INDUSTRIES. : TO THE EDITOR. Sib, — The following suggestions, ,on "Local Industries'" were forwarded to W. Barron, Esq., M.H.H. ' for Caversham. Mr Barron has returned the papers to me, suggesting in his letter the advisability of giving publicity to the views enunciated^' in order that the public might express a,n, opinion, and thereby strengthen the hands, of the Commissioners." T do hot "say,' or presume to say, that' my- .suggestions should form the guide to. the ; Commissioners as the best that can be made. I make them with the conviction thaVtheir initiation, under the fostering care ..of- the Government will give labour : to many thousands of people, form centres- of population throughout theinteriorof the country, and thereby utilize the agricultural element in our midst.— l am, r ,-■'•; J. 0.
