WANGALOA.

<£ [from our own cokrr-*pon t dext.] At last meeting of the Wangaloa School Committee, Messrs Fraer and K. Ramsay were nominated as members of the Education Board. The Education Board seem to me to be good at promising, but very poor at performing. The good people of Wangaloa have for some time past ex-pected-an Inspector to report on the school accommodation, but there' has been no appearance of such a person on this side of the hill for nearly a year, and it is now nearly three months since the Board promised to send an Inspector to report. It may be tlrree more' before he makes his appearance, \mless some one bestir himself in the matter. The accommodation in the residences for teachers which had bean put up under i the old system, these side schools has caused many a teacher to shift quarters. Such are the inconveniences that one can hear distinctly -what' is passing in the other end of the building. For instance, I was lately present at a meeting in one of these old sehoolhonses, and the speaker could not be heard because one of the teacher's children had a tit of crying. If such was the case in school hours, what will be the effect of it on teacher and pupils. I for one, believe that schoolhouses and schoolmasters' residences should be built separately, and the Education Board, for the sake of both teachers and pupils, should use its influence and help local Committees to have these grievances removed, for many of our teachers are suffering from the above inconvenience.
