PEN AND INK SKETCHES.
TO THE EDTTOR. Sik,-^I was exceedingly <*lad to see so -.-. an attendance at Mivlnglis' lecture xm Friday night, and no one can doubt from the manifestations of the audience flnnnc the deliv.-»rv of th« lecture, that it■was fully aopreeiated. But t have heard Tttinv comments as to the absence of the .^inhabitants of Balelutha, who mii>:ht well | have been present, and who would pvobablv have' been' in better humour to-day ... had thev ta^en part/in the laughter and enthnaip-sm that had prevailed. I say all ' prn.iae to the country settlers, numbers of •■whom travelled Rnnv ton or fifteen miles :to be present. This indicates clearly the . ■ class of entortainni'-nts they appreciate, ■ and- may be depended onto support.. I -> hope many more of Mr Ingli's' stamp of lecturers will pay a visit to the Olutha, ■ and if so they may rely upon the hearty . -support -of Settler.
