WASTE LANDS BOARD.

Present : The Chief Commissiner (Mr J. P. Maitland), and Commissioners Bastings, Green, Clark, and Thomson.
Bishop Moran applied to purchase section 10, block XXII, East Gore township, at ordinary upset price, without being submitted to auction, for a church site. — The Board regretted that it had no power to do as requested, and the land must be put up at auction. Ranger Campbell reported on the following applications to purchase deferred payment land, under clause 54, of the Land Act of 1872. and recommended that the same be granted : — Grace M'lntyre, section 15, block H, Waikaka ; Allan McDonnell, section 8, block IV, Waikaia. — Granted.
Certificates of applications for agricultural leases were approved as follows :— - Mr Duncan Ross, section 7, block VHI, Hillend j Mr James Dawkins, sections 27 and 28, block IH, Cromwell; Mr T. 0. Hill, section 1, Ahuriri.
The Chief Surveyor forwarded memo, reporting on the application of Mr Gilroy for a portion of the Balclutha township reserve, and recommending that the same be subdivided for sale into quarter-acre allotments and suburban allotments of from one to five acres in extent. Mr . Brown withdrew his application oh account of Mr Gilroy. — The Chief Surveyor to be requested to carry out his suggestion at hia earliest convenience. Ranger Campbell reported on Mir J. C Thomson's application for a portion of the Crown lands situated between section 10, block H, Waikaka, and the railway v re- ' serve; also upon the application of Mr. W.
